About Crowshall Veterinary Services
Crowshall Veterinary Services was established in 1995 by Stephen Lister and Claire Knott. At that time there was a need for a dedicated poultry veterinary practice in the East Anglian area. Crowshall Veterinary Services was appropriately placed near Attleborough in the heart of the East Anglian poultry industry.
As the years have progressed Crowshall Veterinary Services has continued to expand to adapt to the needs of its customers. In 2003 Philip Hammond joined Crowshall Veterinary Services to further expand the veterinary team.
We provide veterinary advice relating to turkeys, chickens, ducks, geese and gamebirds. To complement this advice a veterinary laboratory was also established to allow rapid detection and diagnosis of poultry infections and diseases but also as a service to clients as part of ongoing infection monitoring programmes.
The Crowshall Veterinary Services laboratory has now acheived UKAS Accreditation status ISO17025 further enhancing the range of services available to its customer base.
The primary focus of Crowshall Veterinary Services and its staff is to optimise animal welfare in the poultry and gamebird sectors. This is acheived through preventive medicine using diagnostics, local epidemiology and cost benefit analysis to help to design the most appropriate vaccination strategies, management programmes and biosecurity protocols for its customers. The company is also active in providing advice on public health issues such as Salmonella control programmes which have ever increasing importance in food safety.
