Worldwide Poultry Meat Production Increases:
In 2007, production of poultry meat worldwide increased by 3.3% to 88 million tonnes slaughter weight. China, Brazil and the US together claimed 53% of world market share, each improving on their positions as the world’s largest producers of poultry meat.
Brazil stands out in the results, with an increase of about 10%. Additionally, with 17 million tonnes production, China was able to double its 1995 production total. Production from the EU remained stable, compared to the previous year, at 13% of market share, and a small increase in volume to 11.28 million tonnes.
