Exciting times at Crowshall Veterinary Services

serology lab

We’re delighted to announce not only the expansion of our laboratory facilities into a brand-new, purpose-designed space just across the lane from our current laboratory and veterinary centre near Attleborough, but also the expansion of the veterinary team with not one but two more vets.

The new laboratory facility will primarily be used to conduct blood testing, enabling us to meet the growing demand for serological testing and disease surveillance in the poultry sector. We have also future-proofed the new building by preparing additional rooms with lab flooring and benching, ready to adapt as the industry evolves, whether that is supporting surveillance work following the potential use of Avian Influenza vaccines, or the development of new disease control programmes in other livestock sectors.

As part of this future proofing we have welcomed two vets into our ever expanding team. Risa Kunii joined us at the beginning of September having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, where she spent 2 weeks with us during her track rotation and wowed us with her enthusiasm. Krijn has very recently joined us from Holland where he has undertaken a Masters, and 2 internships in poultry - the most recent being with Hendrix genetics Layers.  They have both settled in quickly and are fast becoming integral team members.

As our industry continues to face new challenges, these investments in laboratory and the team ensure we stay at the forefront of advanced testing and robust surveillance - helping to protect flock health and support the production of safe, healthy food for everyone.

A huge thank you to our dedicated team and loyal clients who make this expansion possible.
