COVID-19 Please be assured that the practice is still fully operational. We have temporarily changed our services to help our clients by opening from Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm daily and weekends 8.30am to 12pm. Please note this is a this is a short term arrangement to minimise staff in the building and ensure robustness in relation to Covid. We have increased logistical capacity to help with delivery and collections at this difficult time. Please note, PMs need to be at the practice by 5.30pm to ensure they are performed the same day.

DEFRA announce Housing Order to protect poultry and captive birds from the 14th December. - 4th December 2020

The Chief Veterinary Officers for England, Scotland and Wales have agreed to bring in new measures to help protect poultry and captive birds, following a number of cases of avian influenza in both wild and captive birds in the UK. The new housing measures, which will come into force on 14 December, mean that it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers to keep their birds indoors and to follow strict biosecurity measures in order to limit the spread of and eradicate the disease.Public hea...more...

Alert AI Prevention Zone Declared across England 11-11-20 - 12th November 2020

Due to the increased risk of Avian Influenza being introduced into poultry an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone has been declared across England from 5pm 11-11-20. Commercial and backyard poultry keepers are now required by law to follow specific biosecurity advice contained with the Avian Influenza Prevention Zone Declaration. LPAI H5N2 confirmed in Kent - 12th November 2020

Today, a case of H5N2 Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza (LPAI) has been confirmed on a mixed poultry premises of 480 birds near Deal, Kent. H5N2 was confirmed and the CVO declared notifiable LPAI. A 1km Restricted Zone has been put in place around the infected premises (with the same measures as applied in Suffolk in December 2020). During these uncertain times Crowshall Veterinary Services is still operating at full capacity. We have, as many of you been made aware, implemented a shift system – therefore we are open from 6am to 1pm, and 2pm and 9pm Monday to Friday, as well as being open from 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Driving Down Antibiotic Use in Gamebirds - 11th April 2019

By working together over the last two years, game farmers, gamekeepers, their vets and their feed suppliers have reduced antibiotic use in gamebirds by 51%. It’s been a brilliant response to an urgent campaign initiated by the Game Farmers’ Association and supported by all the above organisations.
